It is often very difficult to find a park that caters for all types of people, but  Damien Leeding Memorial Park (Regatta Lakes), located off Heathwood Drive, Oxenford, is one of those rare gems that delights so many.

Close to shops, schools and even a gym, this scenic park has it all.

For Fitness Freaks

Damien Leeding Memorial Park has an easy to follow 3.9km running/walking track that takes you around the whole lake. Take in the beautiful view of Regatta Lake, feel envious of those that live in the beautiful houses over looking the lake and enjoy simply being outside. Around the track you will find three separate exercise stations, with different exercise equipment to suit everyone's level of ability. Change the resistance on the machines and feel your muscles burn!

If cycling is more your thing why not bring your bike down and do a few laps, or if you're a gym junkie, check out Lakeside Exclusive and sign up for the 12 week Challenge or get yourself a personal trainer. Why not map your progress with Map My Run.

For Families

What a perfect place for a family outing or picnic. Bring the snags as the park boasts two barbeque areas, a children's playground (currently being built) plenty of space for cricket, touch or tiggy!

Other family activities include: Rowing, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand Up Paddle, Dragon Boats, Surf Boats, RC Model Boats, RC Yachts

For the Canine Lovers

I regularly take my playful pooch around the lake and along my way we are often stopped by other dogs and their owners, who want to say hello. Part way round the lake is an off leash dog enclosure, where dogs can run free, attempt tricks and just have a ball. There are even two water fountains situated around the lake for thirsty pooches.

Every fourth Sunday of the month, Damien Leeding Memorial Park is visited by the Gold Coast City Council's Animal Management Team who hosts a Walk Your Dog program. Why not spend a free morning out with all the family, including the dog and join a healthy walk and morning tea at the park. Council's Animal Management team will be there from 7.30am - 9am every fourth Sunday of the month to provide advice, tips and giveaways.

So if you're not sure where to go this weekend, why not get outside, grab the family, your friends or even your four legged friend and check out Damian Leeding Memorial Park, Regatta Waters.
