The Snakes & Ladders Playground
Swirling snake sculptures

Originally, the corner of Rose Street and Kent Road, Wooloowin, housed the Dalkeith Private Hospital (1927 - 1990). In recent months, this site was an ugly industrial hole and now it has been transformed into a fun children's playground and picnic area, called Dalkeith Park.

Follow the green snake around and around

Dalkeith Park is an impressive re-design of a 42 metre deep shaft used for drilling the new Airport Link Tunnel. Three giant snakes are intertwined and signage encourages children to race each other along the snakes' colorful bodies. There is a spinning "dice" for timing each other and taking turns, with thoughtful soft landings for catching those who lose their balance.

Where will you end up?

It is only a tiny park, but the creative sculptures are well worth a stop off. Parents might like to visit the Coffee Guy over the road for a morning or afternoon pick me up.
