Open daily from 6:30am to 11pm,
Daily Social offers an extensive à la carte menu featuring both Western and Asian food as well as Balinese cuisine. I was keen to try local dishes while visiting the island and so decided to order
nasi goreng (fried rice) and
satay (skewers).
The fried rice came with crispy soft-shell crab. Although not traditional, the dish was amazingly delicious. Traditional accompaniments usually include chicken or prawns. The sunny side up egg was very typical, though. And, I just loved how aromatic and spicy the rice was. If you're not a fan of chilli, then be cautious with the sambal on the side.
I also enjoyed the pork belly skewers very much. The meat was seasoned and grilled beautifully. It came with rice cake and, of course, sambal. This dish is rather popular in Bali as the majority of the population is Hindu, not Muslim. They have no prohibition against pork.
As for beverages, there are cocktails, mocktails, teas, coffees, smoothies, etc to choose from. We opted for a simple glass of pineapple and mango juice each. Overall, the thing that stood out the most was the service. When was the last time a waiter or waitress addressed you by name? Ours did! She was friendly, polite and attentive. Her positive attitude made our dining experience first-class.
Daily Social is located at
Beachwalk Shopping Centre in Kuta. Your nearest entrance would be the Sheraton gate. Do note that all menu prices are subject to a service charge and government tax, so remember to add 10% and 11% respectively before ordering if you're mindful of your budget. In total, our bill was under Rp500,000 (approximately 46AUD) and I'm really happy with that. For further information, check out
