I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.
Joking around with Dad
Everyone knows about Dad jokes, those silly jokes where we know the punch line before the joke is finished or the punchline is so bad we groan.
If your Dad is like many other Dads, then he will love telling jokes, especially those ones where the whole family goes "Oh Dad!!!". Melbourne Zoo, in celebration of Father's Day, has a special Dad Joke Trail where the whole family can follow a special trail to answer all the animal-themed jokes and questions.
The Dad Joke Trail will be on for one week from 27th August to 2nd September. The cost is included in the admission and you can download the Dad Joke rail map here before you go so you are all ready on the day.
Of course, there are lots of other things to do at Melbourne Zoo. You can meet the animal keepers, walk along the Elephant Trail and visit the Orang-utan Sanctuary and see lots of Australian and exotic animals. On Father's Day itself, you can enjoy breakfast or lunch at either Melbourne Zoo or Werribee Open Range Zoo - details can be found here here. If your Dad loves animals you could even buy him a Close-up Encounter with some of the animals. No doubt they would listen to his Dad jokes!
