If you love dogs and especially those cute little dachshunds, otherwise known as sausage dogs, then this event is definitely for you. The famous
Port Fairy Community Bank Dachshund Dash is back again - bigger and better than ever before.
Come and watch these cute little dogs run as fast they can on their short legs, all in the quest to be the winner. There will be all colours of dogs, black and tan dogs, short haired, long haired, plain tan, males and females, all trying to do their best and outrun each other.
Many improvements have been made to the event this year to make it even more enjoyable for the runners and the spectators. This year there will be increased viewing and seating options for the crowd and an improved PA system to call in these fine creatures as they scurry across the finish line.
The day starts off at 9am with a dogs' breakfast on the village green. Coffee of course and a sausage sizzle as well as a chance to be in the annual class photo of the dogs and their owners. The dogs will parade down the main street will give you a chance to observe these cuties as they proudly strut their stuff. At 10.30 the big race event takes place - two races will be held one of the under 2s and one for the over 2s. If you do not have a dachshund of your own, then you can still come along to cheer and enjoy the dachshunds' antics. This event is always a great deal of fun for both competitors and spectators and the community will be grateful for your support.
