Treat the kids & yourself to the cutest ice cream in Sydney
Ice cream junkies rejoice. There's a fabulous little spot in the heart of the city that is serving up the cutest ice cream treats you will ever see. Sydneysiders say a big fat delicious hello to D21 Ice cream!
These instagram famous ice cream sandwich creations (from Korea), can be found at a hole in the wall shop that is very easy to miss if you don't know where you are going. D21 is on Liverpool Street (down towards the Darling Harbour side of the city). Once you have found the shop, an Ipad on the front counter explains to you how to create your ice cream masterpiece.
Step 1 is to choose whether you want just an ice cream sandwich, or an ice cream sandwich in a decadent looking cone. The sandwiches are a macaron style of biscuit that come in different characters such as Elmo, Sponge Bob, Pikachu, Pokemon and Minions.
If you want to go all out you can add extra adornment to your creation with a small cookie monster or a monster marshmallow.
Once you have your creation in your grubby little paws, make sure you take a photo on the "Instagram Wall" like everyone else does - please note that this does hold up the queue quite a bit as those pesky instagrammers try to take the perfect shot.
Now these delicious creations are not cheap. The basic model in our photos will set you back $10.90 and then it's plus, plus for every extra item you add.
Oh and make sure you visit the ATM before you go as D21 is a cash only business.
Unfortunately there isn't anywhere to sit down and enjoy your ice cream at D21. You can either lean up against the surrounding walls and munch it down, or walk towards Darling Harbour and try and find a quiet spot to enjoy it amongst the hustle and bustle of the city crowd.
