According to the latest statistics provided by the ACCC, seniors between the ages of 45 and 70 were defrauded by over $3.5 million through online scams in Australia during December 2018. Seniors are a prime target for cyber criminals because of their lack of skills in the digital landscape.



City of Vincent Library and Australia Learning Code will be hosting an Online Banking and Cyber Security seminar for seniors on 05 February 2018. Keynote speakers include:

Tim Kennedy - Senior Associate at Kott Gunning Lawyers
Brenda van Rensburg - Cyber Security Consultant and Founder of Australia Learning Code
Online and Cyber Security Representatives - BankWest

This is a free event. Due to limited seating, booking is essential. Bookings can be done online through the City of Vincent Online Booking System .

All guests attending the day will receive a gift bag, compliments of BankWest. Refreshments will also be served.

This event is perfect for any senior, or anyone, looking to gain some insight into online banking and ways to keep them safer online.
