The
Country Women's Association (CWA) began in Western Australia 1924 with the aim of improving the
wellbeing of all people, especially those in country areas. With the bulk of the population now living in urban areas, membership should be declining, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Safety Bay Belles are an example of a thriving suburban branch. Their
Craft Market on the first Sunday of every month showcases handmade goods and home-grown produce as well as raising awareness of the work of the CWA.
The Craft Market, which started 12 months ago, offers a boutique shopping experience in the friendly surroundings of the Safety Bay CWA Hall.Regular stalls include:Garden decorations & hanging basketsPillows & cushionsKnitted dolls & teddies Children's dress upsScented candles & Gift cards Handbags, duffle bags& purses Jewellery & hair accessoriesInfant & toddler clothing plus Cloth nappiesHandmade soapsLadies and children's clothesHand painted giftware…and more
Also on offer are chutneys and jams, confectionery and a cake stall. Children are welcome and the hall has a big backyard for them to play in, after they visit the face painting stall of course.
The CWA Safety Bay Belles Craft Market is held from 9:00 to 1:00 on the first Sunday of every month.
