Dive with giant cuttlefish via VR goggles
cuttlefest science in the pub

On Friday the 15th of July 2022, you are invited to join staff from Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries for a night of science at the South Whyalla Football Club. You will learn all about the giant cuttlefish and have an opportunity to 'dive' with them via virtual reality goggles. It will be a comfortable and mesmerising experience without the need to leave your chair or get wet in the water.

The night will begin at 6pm with four different hot meals to choose from. This includes a vegetarian option. Then, at 7:30pm, marine ecologist Janine Baker will explain the rock star lifestyles of cephalopods. A guest artist will draw a cuttlefish on the night and there will be other Cephalopod photographs, sculptures and drawings to look at as well. As for the children, they can get involved in an Aboriginal drawing class, a drawing competition and various craft activities. The night is expected to conclude three hours later with a Q&A panel.
