When you grow up in the 12th biggest city in Australia, you may have an inferiority complex. This talented mid 30s feminist from Geelong who claims she was the second coolest member of a school choir certainly has a brilliant self-effacing way of conveying her conversion from where she was to where she is now.

Lucy by name but not loose by nature, Lucy Horan entertains for 90 minutes via song and anecdotes. On stage, she has a "Gary Ablett Jnr" lookalike - Rainer Pollard. His piano playing and little asides compliment the self-confessed People Pleaser.

Lucy claims to like 'friends who are emotionally contained', she doesn't swear, apologises for any flatulence and welcomes the coming of the apocalypse because she won't have to catch up with so many 'girlfriends'.

Without giving too much away, the front row get teased in a pleasing way (see picture below)

Horan's insights into her transition from 'pretty generic' to a "perfect model of a modern minor feminist', need to be listened to, to be believed. She is clearly a writer of talent and the audience is encouraged to participate in this 'nice' autobiographical cabaret.

Get along to this 'not just nice' show at the Butterfly Club.
