Have you always wanted to try yoga but been reluctant to squeeze yourself into lycra?
Curvy Yoga teacher, Kaitlyn, explains that yoga was created for teenage boys and that there are positions that some women will never achieve. However, with minor modifications even the curviest of women can learn yoga. Kaitlyn is passionate about passing on her knowledge. She is a great teacher in that she explains competently and then quietly offers advice and support when required.
As the class is aimed at beginners it is suitable for even the most nervous of newbies.
The benefits of yoga are many. As you may already know yoga is not only good for the body but also calming for the mind. Sleep and flexibility may improve.
The six weeks class is carefully structured to cover all the basics and get you started on your yoga journey.
The venue is tucked away upstairs between Rare Pear and Rubylicious and down a hall. It is light and airy and welcoming.
Mats, cushions and other equipment are included in the class fee, so you don't need to bring anything.
What to wear? Well, lycra is optional.
There are 3 basic rules for yoga outfit choice – can you move in it, is it comfortable and has it passed the modesty test - is it see through, does anything pop out when you bend over?
A small selection of yoga mats, shirts and other items are available at reasonable prices.
Do check out the
website. It is really interesting and helpful.
