Life is never boring with 3 males in the house and a dog. We have fun and we have a laugh, after all, that's what life is all about.Visit my blog at angelaslot.blogspot.com

Best of both worlds
Want to get away from the chaos of the coast? Back to nature? No cars, just you, the sand and the broadwater?

Just across the broadwater are some great camping grounds at South Stradbroke Island. Camping here at Currigee you feel as though you are worlds away but if need be you are only a quick hop across the broadwater. Nothing beats sitting in your camp chair on the sand with a nice glass of wine or beer watching the boats cruising by. Take in a game of beach cricket or football with friends or family, enjoy the native wildlife or go foraging for kindling for the night fire (firewood can be purchased from Park Rangers). You may also just be in luck to see some dolphins too as we have on a few occasions swimming by.

North Currigee Campground is a stone's throw across from Runaway Bay. It is a very basic campground, but more than sufficient and adequate and just great for a night or two. There is a shower and a toilet and undercover areas with tables and seats. It includes an inlet which is great for mooring boats. A safe and calm and relaxing environment. With fire pits here, there is nothing better at night to relax, toast marshmallows and enjoy the serenity. You have the best of both worlds at both campsites .

Further down is South Currigee Campground which offers a few different camping options. The charming "Wallaby Tents", sleep four already set up and at your service, saving you time in pitching your tent. Unpowered tent sites and self-contained cabins are another option. Great large undercover BBQ area as well as a children's play area and fire pits. The campground office also has a mini kiosk for all your camping needs if needed.

At Currigee you have the best of both worlds, the beautiful broadwater on one side to relax, swim, fish and explore, Walk through the bush approx 1.5 km across the island and you have the best surf beach and magical views.
