Local performance-based artist Alicia Jones is presenting a unique school holiday program for active bodies and enquiring minds this summer!
Designed and facilitated Alicia Jones, Curious Creatives invites children aged 5 to 13 to explore Gold Coast's history through contemporary art practice.
The workshop series is held in the lush, hidden gardens of the Gold Coast & Hinterland Museum Historical Society and children will enjoy a site-specific journey, discovering significant objects and artefacts found within the Gold Coast region.
Against this backdrop, your child's creativity will come alive through performance, paints and pastels, film/video and enhanced storytelling. The wonderful museum volunteers will also be on hand to provide specialist knowledge about the collection, including the working settler's hut and the amazing, ancient littoral rainforest.
Since 2008, Alicia has been working as a teaching artist, spending time developing cultural understanding and appreciation within student cohorts and the operational management of Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary educational spaces.
With a commitment to the development of genuine skills and respectful experience, Curious Creatives workshops are limited to 10 young artists per day. Bookings are essential.
