There's a special alchemy taking place in the Snowy Mountains township of Jindabyne where Margot, the magician behind Curiosity Chocolates is at work. After taking a chocolate making course at the Australian Patisserie Academy, she was hooked on chocolate making. Many training courses and masterclasses later, was born.

At Curiosity Chocolates, every chocolate is handmade using all-natural ingredients and fair trade, fine couverture chocolate. It's clear that the Snowy Mountains have influenced the end product with everything from the name to flavours and the look of the products showing a hint of the mountains. is named after Curiosity Rocks, a prominent feature in Lake Jindabyne (you can spot the rocks on the logo). Among the range, you'll find the local Corroboree frog immortalised in chocolate - you can pair them with some chocolate snowflakes for a sweet, Snowy Mountains treat.

As well as chocolates, chocolate confectionary is also on the menu with chocolate-covered honeycomb, nougat and marshmallow. In the ultimate local touch, these are made with honey from Margot's own hives. Other local flavours include the mountain pepper bar - spiced with mountain pepper berries, the flavour is herby, slightly savoury taste - if you need any more convincing, this one's a perfect pair with a glass of red wine to warm up even the coldest of winter nights.

The eye-catching graphic design of the packaging gives a nod to the mountains with a cute vintage style featuring skiers on the slopes making them a perfect souvenir of your mountain holiday. And if you're looking for a gift for a chocoholic, have some beautiful hampers which can be mailed Australia wide. For seasonal gifts, there are irresistible chocolate Christmas baubles (good luck keeping them until Christmas day!!) and of course, easter eggs are available too.

While they don't have a shopfront, it's easy to get your hands on some goodies. You can either click here right now and get your fix in their online store (delivery available right across Australia) or keep a lookout at markets around the Canberra and Snowy Mountains region. pop up at Handmade Canberra, The Old Bus Depot Markets, the Jindabyne Community Hall Markets, Crackenback Markets and more so keep a lookout for their next stall.

It's fantastic to see a local business that has a delicious product wrapped up in perfect packaging - I'd highly recommend you satisfy your curiosity and give a go!
