Help support child safety
Support child safety and The Morecomb Foundation at the Cuppa for Daniel fundraiser at beautiful The Shingle Inn café during June 2021.
During this month-long fundraising event, Shingle Inn is donating $1 from every coffee purchased during June to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
About the Daniel Morecomb Foundation
The Daniel Morecomb Foundation was created by Bruce and Denise Morecomb after their son Daniel was abducted and murdered on the Sunshine Coast in 2003. The Foundation honours Daniel and aims to make Australia a safer place for children. The Foundation's work focuses on educating children and young people about staying safe in physical and online settings and also supports young victims of crime.
The Cuppa for Daniel is being launched on 1 June 2021 at 10:00 am with a High Tea at the King George Square Shingle Inn. $5 from every Launch High Tea will be donated to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to help keep kids safe. Bookings are essential here.
The Shingle Inn is a historic, English inspired cafe dating back to the 1930s which has become a Brisbane landmark. Located within the Brisbane City Hall, the cafe's interior was designed by architects Hall and Phillips with a charming Tudor inspired design with decorative, dark timbers.
The interior was lined with Beale veneer and old English style panelling on the upper walls, high settle seats fronting fixture tables and laid out in the Pullman style to seat 100 guests. It gave a sense of walking into an English manor.
The interior was gifted to the people of Brisbane by its owners. so it could be enjoyed and preserved for now and future generations of visitors to appreciate.
