A cafe in midst of a florist? Is this a backdrop of a Korean drama scene?

Cuppa flower is the new buzzing cafe that generated a lot of attention on Instagram and it is ready to reset the centre of Waterloo foodie trail. What's the appeal? This new kid on the block offers visually-appealing cafe dishes that fuse modern creative flairs into your typical traditional breakfast meals.

Set in an unassuming back street in Waterloo, this newly opened cafe is not near any other shops, restaurants or a train line. However it is exceptional in so many ways. If you happen to drive past during the weekend, you can see lines of enthusiastic foodies waiting for their Insta-perfect food snap.

On a warm Autumn morning, we decided to pay a visit. There was a queue waiting and the cafe was full of people sitting inside. I noticed the rustic cafe was filled with high ceilings and a lot of natural light. The florist corner looked like a location shoot and it was visually appealing to the ladies. We didn't have to wait long for a table by the window. There was no better place to be and we were content with our placement in life with a nice cup of green tea in our hands.

It didn't take us long to figure out the reason for its popularity. Cuppa Flower Cafe transforms fresh, raw ingredients into delicious meals that look like food art! The presentation standard certainly attracted and enticed a lot of cafe hoppers.

My friend had chosen the sweet breakfast options. Her breakfast Granola was filled with nutty muesli and vanilla yogurt with fresh seasonal fruits.

This was presented superbly and tasted just as good. It was so good she said she wanted to recreate it at home but of course, it never tastes as good when you cook it yourself.

My rumbling stomach was attracted to the Cuppa Flower Benedict which contained some of my favourite food groups, like potato, crispy bacon, eggs and thick creamy sauces. The beetroot and potato rosti was an innovative combination and together with bacon and poached eggs, it was quite delicious. It was nicely presented and honestly I wanted another serving!

My friend's first breakfast was too light so she was looking for something more indulgent and something that would make her happy. When the staff suggested the ricotta pancakes, she knew she must try that.

The ricotta pancakes were stacked tall and adorned with a wide selection of fresh fruits including raspberries, kiwi fruits and strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It was heavenly when served with maple syrup! My friend loved the light and fluffy pancakes and the mix of textures of raspberries, syrup and cream. The fresh kiwi fruits and strawberries also helped take away from all the sweetness. My friend was addicted!

Our brunch was indeed satisfying. I would probably recommend that you bring your sunglasses as ongoing food photography session continues at every table.

Even though we were disappointed because the crazed 'Totoro' sesame cake and the green tea milkcrepe cakes were all sold out and we just missed out. We know this place put in a lot of thought into the food to make it not only pretty on the plate, but 'real' and fulfilling as well.

With fresh flowers in abundance and friendly attentive staff, this place is too sweet an experience for it to be just a cafe. Enjoy the ambiance, service and food - they are almost too good to eat and definitely photo worthy.
