Whilst streaking is sufficient motivation (for me), there's one bigger: Neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis (let's call it NF) has three particular types: NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis. NF1, diagnosed in 1/3000 individuals, NF2: 1/25,000, and Schwannomatosis: ~ 1/40,000. These stats adds up - up to more than 2 million worldwide. Each, affected by an incurable and largely untreatable disorder. One triggering a host of mild to severe conditions, plus mental impairments. NF doesn't discriminate, irrespective of gender, race, location, ethnicity. Nor confined to genes, with "spontaneous mutation" (in the sperm/egg cell) occurring also.

Here's where YOU, brave friend, come in. This Valentine's Day (Sunday 14 February 2016), time to strip! Right down to your undergarments - or knickers, bloomers, underpants, briefs. But not for your sweetheart. Or me. But Cupid's Undie Run. Cupid's ain't a fiery, frenetic race. Not at all. Cupid's is a warm, friendly gathering - of Melbourne's most shameless. Our raunchy, racy race kicks off with a pre-run party - where you can meet up with friends or stand there and perve. Then? Game on. As you/your team 'Frank Ricard' it through St Kilda (you know, Will Ferrell in "Old School". No?). 4-5 hours of bare bliss. Before returning to St Kilda Festival (just outside Luna Park) for the after-party/awards (VIP open bar for top fundraisers).

Here's what to do:

1) Register. Whilst you do so individually, you can also establish a team. If launching a team, it's the "start a team" option. If joining one, click your team's name from the dropdown box. Feel free to scroll down this page for extra advice. And here for FAQ.

2) Seek sponsorship. To publicize, you're assigned a personalizable fundraising page, (with an email template to help promote). For fundraising tips, guidance on who to approach, workplace fundraising ideas, click away. You may want to seek sponsorship from friends/family first. Then branch out to local businesses - worthwhile pointing out, donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Fundraising as a team may buttress motivation. For a team fundraising guide, workplace team fundraising guide, and team captain guide, click at will.

Several notes: i) Helps to set a fundraising target. ii) However, no minimum needs to be accrued. iii) Send cheques to: "Children's Tumour Foundation of Australia, PO Box 454, FIVE DOCK NSW 2046".

3) Streak.

4) Receive awards! Team members' fundraising efforts contribute to overall team totals. Each member, also eligible for individual prizes:

1000 dollars BONDS undies, shirt, backpack, sunnies & 10 drink passes

500 dollars BONDS undies, shirt & backpack

200 dollars BONDS undies & drawstring bag

Fair to ask where the money goes. And you can. Cupid's Undie Run injects necessary funding for NF research and development. Not only boosting R & D, but also expanding healthcare for Australia's 7000 sufferers. Given that NF's manifestations mirror other disorders', estimated such research may benefit an additional 100 million people (i.e. 65 million cancer sufferers, plus 35 million with learning disabilities). Last year raised more than $150,000. While that goes a long way, hoping you can help surpass it.
