For the first time ever, citizens of Brisbane will be baring it together with their sneakers and water bottles for Cupid's Undie Run on Sunday 9 February 2014.
Participants will be running for the Children's Tumour Foundation of Australia (CTF) whose goal is to put an end to neurofibromatosis (NF). There is currently no cure and very few treatments for this horrible disease that causes sight and hearing loss, learning disabilities and acute chronic pain. Therefore the CTF is committed to advance NF research and develop treatments; provide support to those affected by NF and increase awareness of NF.
Cupid's Undie Run is a hilariously fun, half-nakedly awesome, and outrageously brief fun run around the Suncorp Stadium. Attendees can warm up before the run at The Caxton Hotel from noon before the 1.5km run around Suncorp Stadium at 2pm. Feel free to run, dance, hop and pirouette around the streets before heading back to party in your undies at the Caxton where drinks will be flowing.
Gather your crew, start a team and put together team costumes. Or go solo, wear something cool and make some new friends. Just make sure you fundraise your way to the top.
Of course, your fundraising efforts will be rewarded with the coolest things. From custom cupid's undies, to VIP open-bar status on race day (yes, you heard it right, FREE drinks), to custom cupid's Timbuk2 backpack, to custom cupid's sunnies. Various fundraising targets apply, but if this doesn't motivate you to start, then I'm not sure what will.
Registrations are just $30 until 15 December and places are limited so register now to avoid missing out. All participants must be 18 years or older and make sure you bring your ID on the day.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to support this worthy cause, you can donate to a team, to a participant or make a general donation.
