There are three things that us Melbournians love without question. We love our coffee, our pizza and our live music. We have all three in such abundance we can, and do, afford ourselves the luxury of being rather picky with where we go for such things.
Bringing up the topic amoung any group of Melbournians as to where one finds the best cup of coffee in the city can start the ball rolling on literally hours of debate. Everyone swears they know of the best place, and in true hipster fashion 'you have probably never heard of it'.
Cup of Truth is no exception. Located in Campbell Arcade, underneath Flinders St station, nothing feels more quintessentially Melbourne than hopping off the train and walking through the underground arcade before stumbling upon this little 'hole in the wall', literally.
Now let me tell you, these guys are serious about their coffee. It's pretty much all they do. You won't find any umbrella-ed cafe tables or trendy young waiters at this establishment. Just a guy, a coffee machine, a few small nibbles and blackboards advising of the roast available today. They don't do syrup or any of the other distractions of the chain stores, just a damn good cup of coffee for you to pick up on the way to wherever it is you're off to. Nothing more, nothing less.
