In a culture that has fast become cafe obsessed, a cafe isn't exactly a rare find. What is rare to find however, is a cafe that delivers three essential ingredients; Excellent coffee, exceptional food and genuinely good service. Ticking all three boxes is the newly opened Cup & Cook cafe in Kyle Bay.

Having just visited for breakfast it's easy to see why this particular cafe was an instant success. Stepping inside Cup & Cook you can feel the surrounding positive vibe and friendly ambience. The interior has a chic, industrial look and feel. This, combined with some interesting vintage elements, a vertical garden and lots of light, create a visually pleasing and unique space.

We were quickly seated by the friendly, attentive staff and our coffees arrived soon after. The Gabriel coffee was as good coffee should be - robust and smooth.

The well thought out menu at Cup & Cook includes breakfast favourites such as their big breakfast or brekkie roll as well as various clean, fresh options like their very popular seasonal fruit or granola bowls. The lunches are equally as tantalising with daily specials like their slow braised beef brisket toast topper. Served with tumeric spiced baba ganoush, sumac and shaved beetroot.

We opted for the "Cup's Big Breakfast" - a generous, delicious assortment of poached eggs, bacon, lamb & rosemary chippolatas, confit field mushrooms, spiced sweet potatoes and balsamic tomatoes.

After sampling the excellent coffee and quality produce they've been dishing up since February this year, it's obvious to see why the locals of this quiet waterside suburb have quickly embraced Cup & Cook.

The culinary genius behind the name are Matt (the 'Cup') and Charles (the 'Cook'). The two long term friends and business partners (along with their equally talented better halves!) are genuinely passionate about bringing an exciting and creative eatery to Sydney's south. With a wealth of experience in successful establishments, these creative foodies certainly know how to deliver an excellent cafe experience.

PS. Cup & Cook is also licensed so lunch with a cheeky wine (or two) is definitely on the cards for our next trip!
