Motto: Have a plan and be prepared.

If you're not familiar with Cuban Jazz, then the Cuban Jazz Festival 2016 Feat Citibeatz is the perfect place to start. Allow this sizzling, colourful, fun music festival to be your first introduction to a brand new groove. Organisers don't think you'll be disappointed.

Now in its 13th year, music festivals don't get much bigger or better than this. Appearing for the very first time at the Yarra Valley Racecourse, all concerned are very excited about their brand new location. Not only is the setting lovely it is big enough to hold the 4 performances stages!

The Yarra Valley Racecourse situation also provides for a happy collaboration between music festival organisers music festival patrons and food & wine producers from around the Yarra Valley. While enjoying the live music, sample and feast on farm fresh Yarra Valley produce. On offer will be cheese, wine, craft beers, cider, chocolate, coffee and much more.

The Cuban Jazz Festival 2016 Feat Citibeatz is spread across 4 different stage areas. First cab off the rank is The Main Stage area. The Main Stage will be active all day with live Cuban bands playing for your audio and visual delight. For added excitement the Melbourne Salsa Dance Team will be offering free, high energy salsa dance lessons - and you'll be grateful as once the music starts you simply won't be able to sit still. There'll be trumpets and drums, sax, and conga along with some amazing vocals.

Stage 2 is called the Citibeatz Sound Dome and will feature House R&B, Latin House, Commercial House, Old Skool, Regeaton SEF, BLOVE, BYD, Goldi, Shaggz and Katzen ESG.

Stage 3 is the very cool Vineyard Jazz & Cigars Stage. Just as the name suggests, this is the place to chill out and listen to some jazz being played in the restaurant courtyard.

The fourth stage will feature Commercial House DJ's, sax, vocals and Mini Dance Party next to the Yarra Valley Food & Wine Avenue. Enjoy a coffee with cake or wine, cider, beer or spirits with a delicious cheese platter.

And what would a Cuban festival be with a selection of Cuban Cigars being sold at from a Cuban Cigar Bar? Yes, they'll be there, too.

We attended the 2016 Cuban jazz festival last weekend at Yarra Valley Race course. We are long term Latin dancers in many style and found the music on the main stage to be very repetitive and lacking in variety. It was quite disappointing and not worth the entry fee.
We are active 50's and would not recommend this event unless we can properly check out the event program and be sure as to program details and performers songs and music type. Margaret and Andrew
