by Nicola (subscribe)
Twenty four year old girl studying languages and creative writing, coming home to Sydney after five years exploring the world.
Summer holidays are quickly approaching, and with no beaches close by why not escape to the air-conditioned world of discovery.

CSIRO Discovery is a a great choice for families as it provides entertainment with the bonus of being educational.
Here, science is presented in a fun and interactive way, providing opportunities to enjoy age-appropriate experiments, puzzles, microscope activities and even a classic white lab coat to wear in the OptusLab.

The centre also has a range of hands-on tools that explain and explore topics such global climate change, human health, gene technology, green energy and even a look at 'new age sheep', in a way that is interesting and accessible for kids.

This Christmas, CSIRO Discovery is hosting a FREE family event called' 'Christmas at Discovery.
On December 2nd, bring the family along to have a great night, jam-packed with competitions, activities, wonderful live music and even the appearance of Santa with a gift for every child.

Not only that, there will also be a fascinating reptile show with a variety of some of Australia's most excotic animals and even a change to make and taste your own liquid nitrogen ice cream (and eat it!)

All this and so much more, Christmas at CSIRO Discovery will be a spectacular family event not to be missed.
