Pots of colour and possums for your garden
You know how some people like to edge their gardens with flower beds full of colourful roses and other fragrant flowers, or cover their fences with hanging vines and creepers for privacy and to define borders? Well, I collect concrete possums and place these around the edges of my property instead.
This is the reason for a recent visit to CSG Landscape Supplies at Mount Gravatt Road, Capalaba. Driving past I could see a variety of statues and decorative garden art from the road. It was one of those occasions when you are led somewhere purely by gut instinct.
This landscaping and nursery business has been part of the Redlands landscape (pardon the pun) for thirty five years and has a large clientele of professional landscapers and tradies. They stock a large variety of sands, pavers, mulch, dirt, and concrete blocks, and all the usual items you expect at a landscape supplies outlet.
There was also a good variety of plants available for purchase, both for outdoors and shade houses. I really enjoyed that the nursery area was spacious and wasn't overflowing with plants as I find this tends to be overwhelming. All the plants, whether they be flowering varieties, succulents or epiphytes, appeared to be in top condition, with an array of fertilisers, insecticides, and potting mixes also available.
CSG Landscape Supplies is open during the following hours:
Friday 6:30am to 5pm Saturday 6:30am to 4pm
Sunday 8:00am to 3pm
Monday. 6:30am to 5pm
Tuesday 6:30am to 5pm
Wednesday 6:30am to 5pm
Friday. 6:30am to 5pm
With spring only a matter of weeks away this is a good place to visit for inspiration and enlightenment. And men, if you are looking for the perfect gift for the special woman in your life may I recommend either a pink gardening shovel, or a possum.
