The newly opened is not the traditional Chinese restaurant that we have become so familiar with in Melbourne.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the new decor that included such design elements as:-

A huge indoor water fountain that provided the sound of flowing water. This mingled with the music that was playing, creating a calming and soothing effect for diners.

A line of misting bowls set at the base of another long line of adjacent windows which were under-lit giving the mist an ethereal glow.

Recessed cooking elements in the middle of table which when turned on became bright red and glowed through the special plate that was placed on top, which I used to cook my Wagyu Beef.

Each of these elements helped to make the atmosphere a little different from your normal mundane restaurant.

The Dining Experience

We were well attended to by our waiters, who did not rush us to finish our meal and were at hand to explain how to cook my Wagyu Beef.

I was intrigued when it was explained to me that I would be cooking my own Wagyu beef, I was a bit surprised but not disappointed. It also meant that they we were fully engaged in the dining experience rather than just passive recipients of the food. My dining partner was not as brave as I and ordered something much more traditional and I am pleased to say was not at all disappointed, the vegetables were delightfully cooked, still crispy and flavorsome when they arrived.

Booking As the restaurant is newly opened there is no need to book, however this may not be the case as it becomes more popular

Getting there

Without a car The closest station is Carrum but it is really too far away to walk from the station to the restaurant although you can catch a bus or taxi

With a car The restaurant is close to the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.

Parking Free and plentiful. The restaurant is situated at the back of the shopping centre with a view of the lake so once you have parked your car you need to venture through the arcade nearest the end of the Patterson Lakes Shopping Centre.

Disabled Access Assessment
Ramp access not needed
Disabled toilets none seen
Aisle access/width (1 metre) to allow ease of movement good
Proximity to disabled parking not too far
