The magnificent gardens of the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch's Cruden Farm will be open to the public on 16 March from 10.00 am until 3.00pm to raise funds for Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute.

Cruden Farm is more than eighty years in the making when Keith Murdoch gave his 19-year-old bride, Elisabeth Greene, a small farm as a wedding present. It has been described as a place for people, plants and art works. It changes with the seasons.

Designed by influential Australian landscape designer Edna Walling; its one of Australia's finest examples of landscape gardening. The property includes historic buildings, a lake and working farm.

A day full of activities offers something for people of all ages including live entertainment, expert gardening talks, vintage cars, free health checks from Baker IDI's heart and diabetes staff, face painting, market stalls and more.

Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE was a philanthropist for her charity work and the Open Day proceeds will help support not-for-profit medical research organisation Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and their mission to improve the quality of health for all Australians.

Tickets are available on the day or can be pre-purchased.

Head to Cruden Farm on 16 March to enjoy a spectacular piece of country in suburban Melbourne and to support heart and diabetes research.
