Some Bargains Here if You Look
There are four op shops in Croydon. Three in Main Street and a fourth about three kms away in Dorset Road.

A large shop at the 'quiet' end of Main Street.

The spacious interior allow all shelves and racks of clothes to be spread out and the wide aisles make shopping and browsing very easy.

One clothing rack featured a large range of colourful clothing for little ones.

This op shop is narrow, but long in both length and goods.

Down the back of the shop you will find a large display of shoes ranging from high-heels to designer thongs and sports shoes.

Despite several requests, Salvo's head office have not given permission to take photos in their Croydon shop.

This almost out of the way op shop is in the Merrindale Shopping Centre, just off Dorset Road.

It is one of the op shops operated in aid of the Victorian Animal Aid Trust to support their Coldstream animal welfare facility.

It is not a large shop and has the usual op shop merchandise closely spaced within the confines of the shop.

Being operated by Animal Aid it was not surprising to see an animal present in the form of Aerial, who appears to spend much of the day asleep in his basket behind the counter.

Every man and his dog were there.

He kindly made an appearance for my camera by posing on the counter.


Aerial's assistant at the front counter said their op shop had the reputation of being the cheapest in the area.

There are many opportunities to opportunity shop in Croydon.

Love a good op shop. I didn't know about the Animal Aid one, I will be visiting that one soon. I quite like the Lions shop in Mooroolbark. It takes a bit of time to rummage you way through it but has a decent assortment of interesting goodies and prices aren't too bad.
