Book lovers, I know you are probably still recovering from the UNSW Annual Book Fair , but look sharp as the 2MBS Book Fair is rolling into town again for 10 big days from the 7th June.

Held five times a year in various inner-city locations, this month the fair returns to Crows Nest. The 2MBS fairs always have a fantastic selection of not just books, but CDs, DVDs and sheet music. Setting them apart from other Book Fairs is the fabulous 'Recycled Quirk' section, where you will find an amazing selection of old magazines, press clippings, advertising and unique prints dating back to the 1920s. It's a great place to find something a bit left-field to hang on your wall.

However if you are just interested in books, never fear. The organisers promise there will be 15,000 books on sale, including fiction, non-fiction and an excellent range of antique and out of print tomes. There is also a large range of books for kids and teens. Prices vary but are usually good – expect to pay $2-$5 for a basic fiction book whilst hefty non-fiction volumes are around the $8-$10. At the last fair I picked up a beautiful antique illustrated hardback of the Grimm Brothers Fairy tales for $4 - a bargain by anyone's standards. The best part is that all proceeds from the Book Fair goes to charity.

The fair opens at 6pm on Thursday 7th June and goes through until 6pm on Sunday 17th June – quite the longest book fair in Sydney by any stretch.

Winter is the perfect time to get stuck into a good book or ten, and with the weather Sydney has been experiencing recently, this winter might just be a long one. So go on, throw down that Kindle, get along to Crows Nest and buy a book!

How to get there:
The 2MBS Book fair is held at the Crows Nest Centre, 2 Ernest Place, Crows Nest. The Centre can also be accessed from 61 Willoughby Road. The Fair opens Thursday 7th June from 6pm – 10pm. It then operates daily from 9am – 6pm until Sunday 17th June. There is free two hour parking in the council car park behind the centre (access from Holtermann Street/Zig Zag Lane). The nearest train station is St Leonards which is a 15 minute walk away. Bus 273 stops nearby in Willoughby Road. For more travel information and timetables, visit CityRail .
