The Chinese Lunar New Year is about to begin and you can be sure there will be lots of celebrations in Melbourne City as well as in the suburbs. The Chinese Lunar New Year is, after all one of the most important celebrations in Asian culture and the Asian holiday calendar.

This Hawkers' Bazaar will come to life along the Riverwalk with 30 stallholders coming together for a Hawker-style food market and Asian food products. Just imagine all the Asian delicacies you can try while being enthralled by the many entertainers at various times. Amongst them will, of course, be the fire breathing dragons, symbols of the Chinese New Year, inviting good luck for the next year. Make sure you also visit the Zodiac Spectacular luminous sculptures and look out for the roving lion dance team. You can check out the program

On Saturday 9th February, the amazing fireworks display will take place at 9.45 pm. And if you feel like some music you can also visit dedicated live music venue the Kirin Sound Bar which overlooks the Hawkers' Bazaar. This Asian-inspired venue will feature some of Melbourne's best musicians playing relaxed acoustic tunes during the day and transform into a vibrant entertainment hub at night.
