Crown Street Public School's biennial fundraising fete returns on Sunday 3rd November 2019, 10.00am – 3.00pm. Entry is FREE and all are welcome to the family-friendly festivities!
This year, Crown Street Public School is celebrating 170 years of awesome learning, teaching and community. Established in 1849, the school is one of the oldest continuous public schools in Australia. The landmark heritage-listed building is considered a prominent site in Surry Hills.
The Crown Street Public School Fete will be jam-packed with rides, cool summer sounds, child-friendly workshops, great coffee, food and entertainment!!
Here's what event-goers can look forward to:
Local singer Jo Cooper will be performing and debuting some new songs and the remarkable magician David Lowe will be on main stage; just after Midday, looking for 'innocent' volunteers for the 'guillotine!'. As the fete nears the end of the day students will gaffer tape their principal to the wall, as part of the 'Principals Gaffer Tape Challenge'. Let's hope the Principal 'sticks' to his word!
Crown Street Public School neighbours Bourke Street Public School will also be at the fete, so you can purchase '50 Secrets of Surry Hills' and the Principal and staff from the new Inner City High School will be showcasing the new school uniform and branding.
MC for the day will be Mike Galvin, founder of the Darlo Darlings Facebook Group, food blogger and all-round 'good guy' and a huge Surry Hills supporter!
Crown Street Public School Fete is an opportunity for the students, teachers and parents to showcase the wonderful school and the vibrant community in which we all live in!
