Decadent enough for a special occasion and excellent value for just a special treat, the $65 two-course lunch special at Crown is back again for a limited time.
Four top restaurants are participating in the special which will be available until June 30: Silks, Nobu, Bistro Guillaume and Modo Mio, so no matter your personal tastes, you will find a menu to suit.

The Silks lunch special has five perfectly balanced savoury dishes
I was lucky enough to experience the lunch special at Silks, curiously referred to as the Tray Lunch, and while the dishes did indeed appear on a tray, this was no canteen meal but an exquisitely balanced and deceptively filling collection of five savoury dishes.
The meal includes a very generous serving of deliciously smoky wok fried rice with prawns, a light salad with smoked salmon, a tangy pork loin with house-made chilli sauce and two bamboo baskets – one with crunchy and crispy (prawn spring roll and duck spring roll) and one with soft and steamed (Wagyu beef, prawn and vegetable dim sums).

The beautiful main room at Silks, Perth
Like all of the lunch specials, the tray lunch at Silks comes with a glass of sparkling wine and just when we thought we were full, dessert arrived: billed as a new style mango pudding, which was a wonderfully creamy and rich mango custard and a layer of coconut sago, topped with fresh lychee and mango and a tiny macaron.

Silks is an award-winning modern Cantonese restaurant that sits next door to Rockpool. From the stunning glass lanterns in the entry to the enormous vases that dominate the main room, there are a range of seating options including private dining rooms and semi-enclosed booths, and the $65 Tray Lunch special is incredible value and a perfect way to experience one of Perth's top Cantonese restaurants.
The menus at the other restaurants are just as impressive, and the rooms, just as beautiful.
Nobu offers one of their world-famous Japanese bento boxes with a selection of delicacies including squid tempura, duck breast with yuzu chilli caramel, roasted vegetables in white goma (sesame) sauce, assorted sushi, soup and rice.

Bistro Guillaume offers two French courses for $65 or three for $85 with three options each. From country-style terrine with cornichons and grilled sourdough to Parisian gnocchi and rhubarb pithivier with frangipane, you will struggle to choose just two (or three) options.
Modo Mio offers two Italian courses for $65 and three for $75 with two or three choices for each course including pumpkin ravioli with butter sage sauce, pork rib-eye cotoletta alla Milanese (breaded cutlet) and the choice of a dark chocolate semifreddo or a cheese plate for finishing.
All lunch specials include a glass of sparkling wine.
