If you want or need a cheap day out, this is definitely it.

Recently I took my mother in law on the Crown Bus and we had a fabulous day out for $10. We caught the Crown Bus from Ellenbrook and it was so easy. I have wanted to do this for so long and was not sure how it all worked, so I wanted to let everyone know just how easy it really is.

We boarded the bus (you pay when you get to Crown) and took our seats and enjoyed the 40 minute drive to Burswood. On arrival at the casino, a Crown representative got on our bus and asked if anyone was new to the system today. I raised my hand and she said to see her when we got off the bus. She advised everyone that the bus would leave the same spot where we were dropped off at 3.30pm and she wished everyone a good day.

The representative explained that we needed to go into the hotel and up the escalators and make our way to the desk to get our $10 Fun Pack.

The very kind and cheery lady at the desk gave us our Fun Pack and explained that it included our return bus ticket, a voucher for lunch at our choice of either Carvers, 88 Noodle Bar or Snax, $3 on your Crown Rewards card to use in any slot machine and a free $1 game of Keno.

We had a walk around and then headed to the casino.

It was fairly empty when we first arrived so we went to the area where Keno was playing. We didn't understand the game but took our free game voucher to the operators anyway. There were rows of chairs in front of a big screen, very much like in a cinema and we sat down. Lots of numbers were being called, much like in bingo but it still didn't make any sense to us.

We eventually asked the man sitting next to us how to play the game and after hearing his enthusiasm for the game, felt we needed to join in too. He was about $160 up, and hoped his winning fever rubbed off on us. Alas, we didn't win a cent, but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

The gaming tables still were not very busy, so we headed to Carvers for our lunch. It is a buffet restaurant with a starter bar, salad cart, hot meals section, dessert bar, ice cream station, coffee and cold drinks area. The variety was vast and what we had was very tasty.

After lunch, the tables in the casino were quite busy and we spent the next couple of hours watching games of roulette and black jack.

All too soon it was 3.30pm and time to get on the bus. I would definitely do it again and found it to be tremendous value for money. If you have been thinking about doing it, take a gamble and do it.
