CrowdPlay: Melbourne Fringe Festival

This is your chance to be a participant in the Melbourne Fringe Festival without baring your soul or straining your budget. Crowdplay is a massive public performance that anyone can join. All you have to do is sign up and learn the song and dance steps. There are rehearsal sessions held throughout inner-city Melbourne up until the festival. Then it's a simple matter of turning up to the performance venue and singing your heart out and dancing like you've never danced before.

Hundreds (maybe thousands) of people are already involved in this, and it's easy for you to be too. The Melbourne Fringe has a website dedicated to the event, which can be found here. On the website, you'll find the dates of upcoming rehearsals. Many rehearsal venues hold rehearsals every week, so if you find a time and place that suits you, it's easy to learn the steps and make friends with all the other performers.

If you can't make it to a rehearsal, all is not lost. You can learn the steps and songs in the comfort of your own home, as Melbourne Fringe has put up several videos of the song and dance.

If there is a group of you, maybe in your workplace or at your school or university, you can even ask a CrowdPlay Ambassador to come out to you and teach you the steps. Just get in contact with CrowdPlay by following the links on the CrowdPlay website.

The dance is not hard, and neither is the song, but imagine the rush you'll get when you perform to the world in a giant throng of all-singing, all-dancing, all-laughing Melburnians.
