Sweet and loving magic has finally made its way to Bondi Road, Bondi. The French patisserie revolution is well and truly alive in Sydney, and this is a great thing for Bondi right now. Croquembouche Patisserie serves fantastic coffee, French pastries and other sweet treats. If you're not a sweet tooth, you can still enjoy some savoury treats cooked with love by the amazing pastry chefs here. You will find pastry chefs who are truly passionate about what they do.
The owner, Liz, has a team of well trained staff providing fast and efficient service. Croquembouche Patisserie is also located at Randwick and Botany, and as of the 18th of October 2012, their Bondi store opened up a sweet treats paradise for all of us to enjoy. Hooray for that.
The ambience is colourful and the variety of different French art blends in nicely with the decor and the striking cake displays. If you decide to walk a little further down the hill to Bondi Beach, you can take away and enjoy French food paradise there should you choose to. Why? There is also an open counter at the street level without necessarily having to go inside the store to order your coffee and/or a sweet treat. Or just a baguette or a savoury dish for lunch.
The guys who built the patisserie enjoyed their pumpkin pie on opening day. They were rather impressed and satisfied. So was I. I think I just died and arrived in French food heaven - just like that. The petit fours ($3 each) are just amazing. It is hard to believe that a small treat like this could easily hit the spot. The pastry is delicate with a subtle buttery taste. The danishes and other French pastries were well glazed. Fresh kiwifruit and strawberry pieces are enjoyed on the petit fours which are served on a cute purple dish if you happen to eat in. My latte came with an unexpected French biscuit. Beautiful shortbread, which was moist and rich.
You're only a 10-minute walk to either Bondi Beach or Bondi Junction. Otherwise bus routes 333 and 380 come past this oasis of French treats from the city or North Bondi, depending on which direction you're travelling from to come here.
This is paradise. Despite being quite busy with a roaring trade, Croquembouche Patisserie makes way for a relaxing sit down treat of French food. Colourful and comfortable seats are the order of the day. Great sweet treats cooked with love, and a milky coffee brewed with love and TLC thrown in. Sydney is in for a real treat. A number of French food establishments are in vogue in Sydney right now, and within good reason too. Merci to Liz and Croquembouche Patisserie at Bondi. So far, oh so great. I can't wait to return for another round.
