Casual and relaxed dining is available on a corner in Carrington at The Criterion Hotel . Licensed on April 7 1892, The Criterion's current owners have stripped it back to its bones to reveal a charming rustic space.



The space is divided into separate rooms with two outdoor areas on the footpath, an indoor/outdoor beer garden, the bar area and the green room. Nine pub style rooms with shared facilities are available upstairs.



The menu is full of various items including the usual pub classics of burgers, fish and chips and schnitzels. The cauliflower nachos for $14 was very filling and tasty with crunchy corn chips covered by cheesy cauliflower, creamy avocado guacamole and a fresh salsa.



Many dishes are gluten free and/or suitable for a vegetarian diet whilst other dishes can be modified for those following vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets. The bar focuses on craft beer and regular tap takeovers occur. Weekday happy hours are on 4-6 pm, there are nightly dinner specials, raffles, trivia and live music. Kids meals are $19 and your fur babies are welcome at the outdoor tables.
