If you love checking out other people's gardens, the is the place to be. Held on Saturday 9th November, 9.00am to 5.00pm and Sunday 10th November, 9.00am to 4.00pm, you'll be able to visit ten private gardens and seven commercial gardens and nurseries.

This annual community event, held in the historic Central Goldfields Region of Victoria, makes for a wonderful weekend getaway.

The private gardens on display this year range from small-town gardens to large country gardens and from quirky to sustainable, but what they all have in common is passionate owners who will enjoy sharing their private piece of paradise with you.

Some of the private gardens also have something 'extra'. For example, at Castyljayde garden, Jodie Goldring will be holding a basket weaving workshop "Plants for Basketry" and at Field House, Parupa Metal Art will be on-site with a range of eclectic garden art.

Over at Thyme House, the local CWA will have a trading table on-site, and will also be selling delicious Devonshire teas. Vention Cottage is a garden within the township of Creswick and Di Lehne from Artcreations will be exhibiting her floral paintings in the garden's studio over the weekend.

Yeramba, a farm stay retreat, is situated on 45 acres and the landscaped garden consists of a variety of mature European trees, bulbs and bird attracting flora. You can take a stroll through the laneway that leads to 15 acres of natural bushland with large gumtrees and waterways filled with wildlife and native birds. Yeramba will also have a stall over the weekend selling plants and giving free talks on propagating.

Check the private garden section on the website for all the details. Private garden entry is $5 for adults per garden; children are free. You can book online or tickets will be available on the day at the Creswick Neighbourhood Centre, 19-21 Victoria Street, in Creswick.

Bells Water Gardens specialise in all things to do with ponds and you can see their display water gardens, ponds and water features on both days. Stay tuned for a twilight pond tour that they will be running.

Check out the "green wall" at the Creswick Woollen Mills and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Mill Café. The kids will enjoy saying hello to Farmer Cameron who will walk you through the new animal enclosure where you can meet, pat and feed the gorgeous alpacas, sheep and goats.

Just 10 minutes from Creswick, Maze House has a traditional old hedge maze, set in a country garden with orchards, vegetable patch, flower cutting garden, creek and shady trees. They also serve a light lunch and afternoon teas.
