"The good things in life are family, friends, good food & wine, books you can't put down & as much travel as you can cram in."

I recently dined at Credo with my husband and son and I'm still salivating over my meal a week later.
This restaurant knows the meaning of the word ambience when it comes to dining. The lighting is soft (but you can still read the menu, always a bonus), the staff are fabulous and the modern Italian menu offers something for everyone at very reasonable prices. The wine menu has plenty of local Yarra Valley wines as well as South & Western Australian wines. They have a good beer list too for the beer drinkers among us.
I had slow roasted pork belly, crisp pork skin, potato puree and caramelised apple tart. The kitchen was happy to change my puree to potato instead of the fennel listed on the menu. The pork was beautifully tender and fell apart and the all important crackling was perfect. Other choices at our table were soup of the day - potato, leek and bacon with fried chat potatoes on the side, and porterhouse steak, smoked leek, field mushroom with horseradish mascarpone.
If you want to make a week-end of it, the immediate area has plenty of B & Bs too. Personal recommendation would be Lochiel which is walking distance to the restaurant.
