Following your passion can be a tough road when you are creative. Think of Vincent Van Gogh, who only ever sold one painting in his lifetime. Yet our lives are the richer for having artistic people around us, and enjoying their creations.

The at Parramatta Town Hall on Sunday May 10th is a free event designed to provide encouragement and exposure for artists of all persuasions. And if you go along to support them, you might be lucky enough to discover a major talent of the future.

Professional and amateur creatives are being given the opportunity to showcase their unique works from 11 am to 5 pm. Judging by this launch event video , it will be a pretty classy experience.



Are you a musician, a dancer or a poetry slammer?Are you a photographer, a graffiti artist or a sculptor? Are you a fashion designer, a hair stylist or a makeup artist? The range of creatives invited to participate indicates the range that should be on offer if you go and take a look-see.



The , or Creativity Unleashed Expo as it is also described, seems to be a really interesting collaboration between a small marketing, PR and events company and a community-based not-for-profit organisation.

Creatives Uncovered and the Community Migrant Resource Centre in Parramatta aim to unearth and nurture new talent, with an emphasis on young people from diverse backgrounds. With exposure comes recognition, and the chance to break into a competitive local, national and even international market.

Whether you are an artist or a lover of creativity, the Expo has something to offer you. The organisers aim to make this an annual event, giving budding artists something to work towards. For that reason alone it is worth supporting.
