Following the interest shown by budding artists and poets in the series of
SketchyWord-Poetry and
Sketching in the Moment! Workshops conducted at
Wunderkammer Gallery and Gifts, Sue Fleming, Creative Director of the gallery, writer and former Head of Professional Writing at the Adelaide College of the Arts on Light Square, will be launching her new series of writing workshops titled
Wunderkammer Word.
Although Sue retired late last year from the Adelaide College of the Arts, she is still an active writer and has most recently been invited to sit for the next two years on the Arts SA Peer Assessment Panel for Literature. Sue has done this twice before over the years, as well as being twice a judge for the Festival Awards for Literature for Writers Week. She also sat on the SA Writer's Centre Board, chaired a panel associated with Writers Week, and been invited to teach at international and national Writers' Festivals.
Sue is well known among the Adelaide writers' community. She was instrumental in establishing Marion Writers' Inc. at the Marion Cultural Centre, and has received many requests to return to workshop teaching, which she is very excited about.
Sue will be primarily conducting these creative writing workshops on Saturday afternoons from 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm in Wunderkammer Gallery.
The first workshop in the series is Poetry Unpacked is on Saturday, 2 July from 1.00 - 3.00 pm. This workshop is perfect for novice poets or those wanting to fine tune their skills. No pre-requisites needed - just willingness to have fun in a creative environment.
The cost is $40/workshop ($20 deposit required by 30 June) with a maximum of 6 participants to keep it very personal. Participants to bring pen and paper to write on.

The next workshop in the series, Writing for Young Children - 12 easy tips to help you on your way is tentatively scheduled
date to be confirmed.
Further plans for other writing workshops are underway to be held through-out the year. The series is likely to include
Writing for Older Kids; Editing; Self-Publishing; Grant Writing; Fantasy Writing; and 'Screenplay Writing.
As limited places available at workshops, booking is essential.
