The Kingston Arts Centre invites Melbourne knitting artist Bennie Plymin to the Shirley Burke Theatre, Parkdale, to teach kids aged 8 plus how to knit-a-critter over the Easter school holidays.
You might find it hard to tempt your kids to knit, but Bennie's class might just entice even the not-so-crafty types to join a beginners class to create a funky kitted critter. In his tight knit class you or your kids will learn the basic skills to design, knit and create your own creature, and receive an official 'Social Knitwork' starter pack full of knitting goodies to take home.
There are two 3-hour workshops available these school holidays, with one class held on Tuesday 31 March at 10am and the other on Wednesday 8th April at 2pm. Parental guidence is not required, however each child must be registered upon arrival.
Absolutely no experience is necessary and all materials are provided, just bring a snack and and a drink for refreshment. Each workshop is $35 per person and can be booked
here .
Bennie's class makes up part of Kingston Art Centre's Creative Lounge which consists of a diverse bunch of the industry's best that share their skills in in exciting new workshop series. As well as critter-knitting, there will be magician, artist, lego master, puppeteer, and playwright workshops, too. Check out the full schedule
