Adult and School Holiday Arts and Crafts Workshops
Winter is well and truly upon us and it's a great time to cosy up in a warm room with some arts and crafts and other creative pursuits.
Covid wasn't good for much (yes, an understatement) but it did give us an opportunity to explore our creative sides as we looked for things to do to fill in the interminable days and nights of lockdown. The renewed interest in creative activities, arts and crafts has seen a burgeoning of workshops where people can finesse their skills, learn new ones and get creative in a social setting.
Creative Lane Studio in Dural has recently opened its doors to those wanting to explore and expand their creative pursuits, as well as selling take-home projects and beautiful hand-made gifts. I decided to do a beginners' macrame workshop which was 3 hours of learning and fun, with a teacher who provided patience and expertise as she guided the group through different knotting techniques to achieve something of a masterpiece.
Classes are offered at different times and participants have the option of bringing food and wine to enjoy during the workshop which makes for a relaxed and fun morning or afternoon. Private functions can also be arranged which is ideal for birthdays, hens' parties, reunions or get-togethers with a group of friends.
Located in the heart of Dural, Creative Lane Studio is close to lots of cafes for pre- and post-workshop brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Parking is also readily available nearby.
In addition to macrame workshops, Creative Lane Studio offers a number of other classes including hand knitting, candle making, soft stone sculpture, ceramic/clay classes, dream catcher making and more. School holiday workshops are also available for kids.
