I'm a quirky singer/songwriter living by the sea on the Gold Coast in Australia. Part crazy cat lady, part foodie, part Lady Gaga fanatic (she follows me on Twitter!), part world traveller. Oh, and I like writing too. Hi!

Get covered in fur and cuddled by cats

Hi, all you cat lovers out there! C'mon, I know I can't be the only one! There is a cat cafe in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, and so far it's the only one on the Coast, so any locals or visitors, come on down and get "crazy" with the cats!

It's a really nice experience, with around 20 lovely and adorable cats with many toys and climbing things, furniture to scratch and ruin, and even a 24-hour cat TV and a big wheel like a hamster or mouse might run on, like a treadmill for cats.

You can sit with a coffee, cake, sandwich or a glass of wine if that's what takes your fancy while you enjoy the company of the cats. Obviously there are numerous rules to protect the safety of the famous felines, such as no feeding them, no picking up the kittens (yes, there are tiny little kittens there too! SQUEE!), no poking, prodding or being violent or intimidating to the cats, and you must stick to your allotted time (selected when you made the booking online) which is usually 50 minutes.

If you check out their Facebook page, you'll see a bunch of cute pictures showing the various cats laying and lounging all over people. I myself have been four times in the past year and have had cats climbing up my leg on the inside of my dress, and sitting on my shoulder. Bliss for any cat lover! Go on - you know you want to go home covered in fur! My mum and friend loved it!
