Located at the same complex as Yuna , PhoEver 99 and Angel Thai , Crazy Bites at Mile End specialises in Indian cuisine. During one of our visits, we were offered complimentary pappadums accompanied by tamarind sauce.

The chunks of chicken in the Chicken Biryani were tender and of a good size. The rice was light and fluffy and the spices gave it a spiced taste that is suitable for most tastes. Raita was served with the dish to act as a foil to the spiciness.

The fish in the Amritsari Fish was cooked just right and the coating set off the flesh nicely. The spiciness is suitable for those not used to spicy foods, and a bed of salad greens provided a fresh element. In additional to mint chutney, the dish came with gherkin sauce. The gherkin sauce had a taste similar to sour cream.

When ordering their curries, diners can choose a level of spiciness to suit their tastes. The chicken in the Chicken Vindaloo was succulent and big enough to make eating the dish satisfying. The medium level of spiciness that we chose had the degree of hotness we expected without being overwhelming. As expected from Vindaloo curries, it had a background sour taste.

Compared to their Vindaloo, the consistency of the gravy of their Beef Masala was thicker. We liked that the chunks of beef were not tough, and the gravy had a slight smoky flavour. For those concerned about the degree of spiciness, the medium level that we chose was not too hot.

Their Chef Style Eggplant Curry had pieces of eggplant that retained their texture, with contrast provided by firmer chunks of potato. The degree of heat of the dish was quite mild, great for those that are not used to spicy foods. A topping of spring onion shreds completed the dish.

We were delighted by the generous portion size of the Kachumber Salad, which was large enough to be easily shared. The cubes of cucumber retained some bite, which was contrasted by the softer tomatoes. Red onions added a hint of sharpness and the dressing gave the salad a tangy flavour. Its refreshing taste makes it a good foil for their spicy dishes.

Their Naan was light and fluffy with a slight toasted taste. Their plain taste makes them great for accompanying their curry dishes. Those that want something more flavoursome can choose the Garlic Naan, in which the Naan is topped with minced garlic. The garlic gave it a garlicy flavour that was not overwhelming.

Their Roti had a firmer texture compared to the Naan while still retaining some lightness. Compared to the Naan, the roti had a nuttier flavour. As its name suggests, the Crispy Masala Roti had a topping of spices to give it a mild spiced flavour.

The restaurant is fairly small in size, with the decor giving it a casual feel. Diners that visit during lunchtime on weekdays can enjoy a selection of lunch specials. Some of the lunch specials had a Western flair to them, such as Curry Loaded Fries.
