A quirky & fun adult colouring in book
Hot on the heels of the adult colouring in craze comes this humorous addition to the range from Joe Sumner - Crap Colouring In: Mindless Art Therapy for Modern Life.

Crap Colouring In Book Review
Not your regular adult colouring book

This is not a regular adult colouring in book. You will not find any mystical mandelas, enchanted forests or unicorns in these pages. If you don't take yourself (or your colouring) too seriously, and prefer your colouring in to be of a more every day variety, then this is the book for you.

The premise of the book is simple - modern life is crap - and it aims to make the little irritations of every day life a bit more bearable by colouring them in.

Crap Colouring In Book Review
Modern Life is crap - so get colouring!

Some examples in the book include: broken fingernails, rainy days, never ending piles of ironing, cancelled flights, stubbed toes and cracked phone screens to name just a few. There are over 100 pages of annoying, irritating and frustrating every day scenarios in this book to colour in.

By colouring in these pages you are invited to take the stress away from modern life and rediscover your childish sense of wonder as you fill the pages with colour.

I tested the theory recently after a particularly crappy day at work. I chose the dropped ice cream cone page. After only five minutes of colouring I found my thoughts had been taken off my crappy day by focusing on the creative task at hand.

I really like the humour in this book and have a few suggestions of my own pet hates to include in a second edition such as:

when putting freshly washed sheets on your bed and you find bird poop on them
not being able to find one matching lid for a container in your Tupperware cupboard (this happens frequently in my house)

What crappy scenarios are at the top of your list?

So the next time you have a bad day or are feeling frustrated with modern life why not enjoy some adult colouring in time with this fun and quirky book.

This looks like fun! The pictures look like they'd be easier to get done in one sitting than the more detailed ones in most colouring books for adults. My suggestions would be when you're wearing socks and step on a wet floor, and when you sharpen a pencil but the lead keeps breaking.
