If you're looking for somewhere different to visit then the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit. Located at Ballarto Road and Botanic Drive, Cranbourne, it is open daily from 9am to 5pm, excepting Christmas Day and extreme fire alert days.
There is so much there for everyone. Great flora, it is also a great habitat for over 170 species of birdlife, some animals such as bandicoots, echidnas and even koalas have been seen on occasion at the gardens and a variety of reptiles.
Filled with native plants there are the beautifully planned and developed Australian Garden and beyond that, natural bushland, wetlands and heathland. The bushland section of the gardens contains 10 km of walking tracks, including the Trig Point Lookout tower, a number of secluded picnic sites and free barbecues.
So, you can enjoy formal gardens or wander along the more natural areas in a total of 363 hectares.
