If you're looking to explore a beautiful part of Victoria and live close by to the City of Casey, then I highly recommend a day out at the breathtaking Australian Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne.
I had the pleasure of visiting here today with my partner to walk around and take photos of the place. I was very amazed at how wonderfully landscaped the area was. Walking around the gardens does not take too long, but you may want to allow plenty of time to be able to take in all the serenity. Young kids will love seeing the views too and the nicely made gardens.
During summer time, you can wade in the small water feature with stepping stones. The water runs all year round but it's more active in the warmer months.
There is a small area dedicated for kids out in the gardens which features cute chalkboards that you can draw on. There's even a little sandpit, a raised wooden bridge with a fun tunnel slide at the end to go down. This area breaks up the walk for the kids and there is also seating for the adults close by.
My favourite part about the Australian Gardens was how picturesque the place was and how it felt I was a whole world away as I walked around. The lakes are so beautiful and if you're lucky, you may see some native wildlife. My partner and I saw some beautiful ducks in the rivers which was lovely.
A couple of other features about the Australian Gardens I'd like to add is that there is a proper playground area away from the walking track where kids can really let loose and have fun. It features a large sandpit, slide, swings, and an undercover area with barbecue facilities.
There are a couple of cafes among the gardens too, we didn't eat here but they did seem to have a lot of customers in there and the menu looked great.
