Keen to gain a wider market for your craft than your family and friends? Craft to Consumer is a new professional development series by arts organisation
Craft that can help you take your craft business from your living room to the world.
The series will feature experienced craft professionals who will impart information on several subjects that craftspeople can use to advance their business and careers in craft. They will also take time out to answer any questions you may have about your craft venture.
The series will cover a number of topics over a number of sessions including Market Ready, The Write Stuff, Selling Online and Point & Shoot, with the first session of the series being Best Practice.
Targeting emerging as well as established makers keen to expand their market reach in the retail sector, an overview of the fundamental steps involved in introducing and establishing your concepts and practice within the marketplace will be provided in the
Best Practice session.
With presenters Dale Campisi of Melbournalia, Victoria Mason of Victoria Mason Jewellery and Carmel McKie from Craft providing their insights into working in the craft business, you will gain some invaluable knowledge.
This first session of the Craft to Consumer series will be held on Thursday 10 April 2014 at Craft in Flinders Lane. Keep an eye on the Craft website for upcoming sessions to round out your knowledge and arm yourself with the cunning to carve a niche for yourself in craft.
