In addition to public exhibitions and events in Melbourne like Craft Cubed, New Craft in Queen Victoria Market and the Melbourne Town Hall pop-up shop, Craft also organises professional development sessions for budding and practising artists, designers and makers. Craft to Consumer Market Ready session on 6 November helps budding artists and makers to understand the craft and design market and how best to grow their handmade business.
Led by a team of 4 experts, this 2-hour session from 6pm to 8pm will walk you through a range of practical sales and marketing considerations before you hit the market scene. You will discuss ways to create strong product brands, use cross platform selling, prepare to take your products to market and develop a memorable market presence
The team include Sass Cocker (Ask Alice Stationery), Natalie and Ben Mason (Rebound Books), Penny Min Ferguson (Min Pin Design) and Daniella Lo Presti (For Me By Dee). Irina Rybakov, Craft's Project Coordinator for New Craft and Craft Hatch will also be around to answer any questions. The session is held at 31 Flinders Lane, Melbourne and prices are $20 for members and $40 for non-members. Tickets are available online.
