Sat 28 Apr 2018

If like me, you like to sit quietly now and then with a bit of craft to do, then this market will be just for you.

The Day on Saturday 28 April 2018, from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm, is an opportunity to purchase quality excess materials from local textile artists and craft workers at market prices.

There will be yarns and fabrics and an opportunity to discover just the right piece for your latest craft project or creation with craftspeople available selling a variety of materials, including wool for knitting and crochet, fabrics, threads, beads and jewellery making items, buttons, fringing, lace, paper, leather, patterns and so much more.

There will be more than 20 stallholders, where you can share your passion for craft with others, have a chat, grab a coffee and meet other crafters.

You will find the market at the Pepper Street Art Centre Artists Studio, located behind 558 Magill Road, Magill in Pepper Street, but arrive early to grab the best bargains.

Entry is free, so come along to chat and discuss great project ideas.

Former known as Knit and Natter, Talk and Textiles is a group of like-minded appreciators of textiles who meet on a fortnightly basis to share coffee, conversation and creativity.

At the heart of the group, is sharing and learning of new skills alongside some highly innovative and skilled creative people who are also still learning. Whether you are a knitter, wearable art creator, patchworker, rag rug maker, dye master or crochet lover, there is plenty of opportunity for you to learn and teach in this supportive environment.

Bring along your own project, create and maintain inspiration and network with others. Coffee and tea is available and the cost is $4 payable on the day.

The group is supported by artist on site Phyllis Williams, who is a highly experienced textiles artist and educator. Contact Phyllis at [email protected] if you have any questions.

The group meets fortnightly on Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm.
Parking is available onsite or in nearby streets.
