When I have a hankering for a beer with my meal, I am picky about which restaurants I will consider. As a dark beer lover, I am often disappointed with the lack of selection. , however, is always a great choice for interesting beer and delicious food.


Set off Main Street in Old Town Scottsdale, the cozy restaurant offers a dark inviting interior and comfortable enclosed patio in the back. has a casual elegance with wood floors, dark tables, and art on the walls. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. You can also sit at the bar gazing at the row of taps and television screens.


Start with one of their rotating flavors of beer they craft with the Sun Up Brewery in Phoenix or choose from 38 varieties of local and regional craft beer. No matter your taste, you will find a unique, delicious beer to perfectly accompany your meal. As one of the owners is a Sommelier, there are also many wonderful wines. The full bar also offers a full array of cocktails, including signature mules.


Local farmers, including my farmers' market favorite, McClendon's Select Farm, provide much of the organic ingredients for 's menu. The colors and flavors of the food show you the benefit of this. If one of the four choices of salad doesn't appeal to you, try their farmers' market special. On my most recent visit, spring greens were topped with pears slices, dried cranberries, and pumpkin seeds.


Move on to a main dish fired to the perfect crispness in ovens imported from Italy. Choose from 11 varieties of 12-inch artisanal pizza, including my favorite with arugula, mozzarella, Parmigiano-Reggiano, ricotta, fig sauce, and truffle oil. My husband and I usually split a pizza after starting with a salad, focaccia, or bruschetta. The charcuterie board also makes a great pairing with the beer and wine.


Finish up an enjoyable meal with an espresso or cappuccino and some tiramisu or Nutella dessert.
