Melbourne has so much to offer. I love experiencing new places and events and sharing them with you. I have an interest in gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets so I will let you know if you these can be catered for in my reviews.

Colourful cafe with character
I admit. I walked right past it, even though I had driven past it earlier and it has such a colourful awning. Let me tell you, I am so glad I didn't!

But inside it was bustling with people. A long bar with stools along the right of the door, and neat framed prints along the wall on the left. Exposed red brick walls and exposed cables and lighting give this place an industrial edge, while the fireplace, flowers, cushions and smaller details provide a feeling that is closer to a home. Wait staff wearing "crabapple" aprons were buzzing through the tables and queue of people waiting, they were smiling, helpful, attentive.

The menu includes the classics, as well as some Indian, French or Italian inspired meals. Crabapple Kitchen uses all Victorian produce and will cater for gluten free or vegetarian diets.
Skewered Prawns

Homemade baked beans with a poached egg

The pancakes for dessert were magnificent and a huge serving for one person. Luckily there were plenty of people to share.

We all enjoyed the Crabapple Kitchen, the food was tasty and well presented. It is licensed. The service was great and the prices are reasonable.
